Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech for the night shift. The role involves selecting materials, ensuring packaging integrity, operating sterilization equipment, and maintaining accurate records. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates under a 12-month contract.

Required CRCST/CSPDT certification and ability to work a 40-hour week, with occasional weekend/holiday rotation. High school diploma or equivalent; BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
• Experience with sterile processing and infection prevention concepts.
• Understanding microbiology and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to use computer systems for logs and records.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate materials and sterilization packaging for each instrument set, ensuring proper wrapping for aseptic technique.
• Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on all instrument sets and packages.
• Operates complex sterilization equipment, selecting the correct method of sterilization based on manufacturer instructions.
• Reviews and signs all sterilizer recording charts to verify proper sterilization parameters before releasing items for clinical use.
• Monitors sterilizer printouts, maintains records, and documents all requirements in appropriate log books or computer systems.
• Properly identifies and segregates reusable items for decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization, selecting appropriate cleaning methods based on manufacturer instructions.
