Job Description

Crawfish Cafe is looking for a Kitchen Manager who can effectively control kitchen tasks, budget, and manage kitchen operations.

Crawfish Cafe originated out of Houston, Texas, and is a Vietnamese Cajun Seafood restaurant that has been featured in numerous Houston publications recognizing us for our delicious sauce blends tossed in the seafood of your choice.

Kitchen Manager Responsibilities

  • Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes, procedures, and restaurant standards.
  • Enforcing compliance with all employment policies and overseeing cleanliness and safety of the restaurant for guests and staff.
  • Managing performance of Back of House employees, including evaluations, coaching, and discipline. Providing daily feedback during one-on-one meetings.
  • Overseeing proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items.
  • Understanding and practicing safe food handling procedures.
  • Directing work for kitchen staff, including scheduling and task assignments before, during, and after restaurant hours.
  • Training staff on equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures.
  • Reviewing applications, interviewing, and hiring Back of House employees.
  • Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment aligned with core values and operational goals.

Job Requirements: Qualifications & Ethic

  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant experience, with at least 2 years in management, preferably in high-volume, fast-paced settings.
  • Food Manager Certificate.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Salary: $65,000 per year plus quarterly bonus, one week paid time off, sick days, health benefits, and free manager meals.
