Job summary

Novolex in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Crater to fabricate wooden crates and cardboard boxes using woodworking hand tools and power tools, with a Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm schedule.

This union hourly role starts at $26.36 with increases at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months; candidates need a High School Diploma or GED and experience with pneumatic staplers and nail guns, plus a computer terminal; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in use of pneumatic staple guns, nail guns and other power tools.
• Proficient use of a computer terminal.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate wooden crates and/or cardboard boxes using woodworking hand tools and power tools.
• Manually packs large items into shipping crates.
• Determines size and shape of container and materials, and assembles crates.
• Places products into containers and wraps pads or protective materials for safe shipment.
• Attaches labels and ensures compliance with shipping orders.
