Job summary

Position Title: Crate Builder / Packer

Wage: $19.00/hour

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 2:30pm - 10:30pm (Monday - Friday)

Crate Builder / Packer Responsibilities:

• Build wooden crates using BoxCAD plans and instructions
• Read and follow crate building plans and measurements
• Identify different wood types and lumber sizes
• Measure, cut, brace, and secure materials inside crates
• Use foam, strapping, foil, and other packing materials to protect products
• Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as needed
• Complete production records, checklists, and other paperwork accurately
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and daily safety checks
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Help train new employees when assigned
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

Requirements for Crate Builder / Packer:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Previous woodworking, crating, packing, or similar manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
• Knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50+ lbs
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a loud manufacturing environment
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear
