Job summary

State of Hawaiʻi, Airports Division, is seeking a skilled vehicle maintenance technician responsible for maintaining and repairing crash/fire response vehicles, boats, and related equipment at the airport facilities. The role requires welding, diesel/gasoline engine work, and ability to work from drawings and manuals.

Applicants must hold a valid CDL-A with Tank endorsement N, and be able to transfer a out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii CDL.

Qualifications

• General Experience: automotive repair with diesel and gasoline engines, brake systems, transmissions, and tools.
• Specialized Experience: maintenance and repair of crash/fire vehicles and related equipment, reading manuals, repairing high pressure pumps, and using electrical repair tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs aircraft crash/fire rescue vehicles, boats and auxiliary equipment.
• Repairs diesel and gasoline engines and fabricates parts; welding to modify vehicles and related items.
• May repair automobiles, trucks, and heavy construction equipment; performs other related duties.
