Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Casting and Forging Manufacturing Process Engineer to contribute to PTME and deliver New Model Powertrain Programs. You will lead development of in-house forging processes and optimize crankshaft part design, collaborating with PD TE, machining, and suppliers to improve manufacturability and efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering (MS preferred) with 5+ years in manufacturing, strong analytical skills, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering, or MS preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing, preferably casting and forging.
  • Demonstrated experience in detailed statistical analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience in manufacturing/process engineering and program management for product and facilities programs.
  • Knowledge of crankshaft forging processes and related design/diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of in-house forging rough part design and die-related simulations.
  • Lead development of advanced forging processes and manufacturability improvements.
  • Drive quality/investment efficiency via CR/IR processes and BOP teams.
  • Collaborate with Machining and PD TE on crankshaft near-net shape design and balance optimization.
  • Understand and guide new manufacturing technologies to meet product requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal/external partners (NDE, AMDO, suppliers, labs).
  • Maintain awareness of global forging technologies and benchmarking.
  • Mentor crankshaft manufacturing/design engineers in casting/forging.
