Job summary

Textron Systems: Lycoming Engines in Williamsport, PA seeks a Crankshaft Cell Operator to operate external and surface grinders and related machining equipment, finishing parts to exact specifications and maintaining safe, efficient production. You will read blueprints, use measuring tools, and document results to ensure consistent part quality across batches.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced line, emphasizing accuracy, workmanship, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience operating manufacturing machinery or completed related training demonstrating machine skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate external grinder and surface grinder to shape parts to required specs.
• Machine, process, refurbish and finish parts with machining operations such as polishing, lathes and milling.
• Read blueprints, processes, BOMs and use inspection equipment to complete tasks.

Job Scope

• Operate equipment to externally grind parts to required specifications. Operations include: External Grinder and Surface Grinder.
• Operate machinery to machine, process, refurbish and finish parts to required specifications. Machining operations include: Machine Polishing, Various Lathes and Milling Operations and other Manufacturing or Machining Operations.
• Utilize equipment necessary to perform the following operations on engine components to required specifications: Straightening, Assembling, Bench Grinding and Polishing, Mill and Drill, Balancing and Automatic Saw.
• Utilize blueprints, processes, bill of materials and measuring and inspection equipment to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform other duties inherently required of the job classification.
• Perform assigned work in a safety conscious manner.
• Perform assigned work to specified quality and production standards.
• Maintain equipment and tools used by the individual in a clean condition.
• Perform assigned cleaning required to maintain individual's immediate work area in a clean condition.

Prepare and/or maintain all documentation necessary to the duties of the job classification

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previously held a classification or a position demonstrating the ability to operate manufacturing machinery, or satisfactorily completed a company provided or outside training demonstrating some machine skills or equivalent to that required to operate manufacturing machinery.
