Job description

Provides pediatric dental care to evaluate tooth and jaw development and growth. Participates in interdisciplinary dental care for craniofacial and cleft patients, clinical support, and appropriate guidance for dentists providing restorative services for craniofacial anomalies and special care orthodontics; provides education for dental residents and performs associated research. Collaborates with speech pathologists, oral surgeons, and craniofacial plastic surgeons in planning treatment for speech problems and surgeries for jaw growth irregularities. Treats conditions, defects, injuries, and aesthetic aspects of the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face within the Seattle Children's Dental Clinic. Provides clinical training and education to residents as an affiliate faculty member of the University of Washington, School of Dentistry.

Compensation: $206-$216 hourly

Required Education and Experience: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Dental Medicine Doctorate (DMD). Advanced training in an accredited Orthodontics program. Board eligibility or certification in Orthodontics. Experience in hospital orthodontics, medically compromised and developmentally delayed pediatric patients, and patients with craniofacial anomalies. Additional education or experience in education, research, or business.

Required Credentials: Licensed Dentist in Washington. Must obtain and maintain professional staff privileges in good standing. Staff privileges are provisional for the first year and terminate upon employment end. Questions regarding privileges should be directed to Medical Staff Services.

Salary Information: Based on full-time employment (2080 hours/year). Offers depend on multiple factors including skills, experience, and expertise.
