Job summary

QLM in New Orleans, LA seeks an experienced Crane Operator with pile driver experience to join its foundation and civil construction team. You will operate cranes with pile driving leads and drives for heavy civil projects, performing inspections and coordinating with ground crews on safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of crane operation in pile driving, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years operating cranes in pile driving or deep foundation projects.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate lattice boom, friction, and/or hydraulic cranes for pile driving.
• Rig, hoist, position, and drive sheet pile, H-pile, pipe and concrete piles per specs.
• Perform pre-operational crane inspections and routine maintenance.
• Coordinate with ground crews using hand signals and radio communications.
• Monitor load limits, ground stability, and proximity to utilities or structures.
• Assist in assembling/disassembling crane leads, hammers, and related equipment.

Crane Operator with Pile Driver Experience

Job Details

QLM is seeking an experienced, safety-minded Crane Operator with specialized Pile Driver experience to join our foundation and civil construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating friction and/or hydraulic cranes equipped with pile driving leads, impact hammers, and vibratory hammers to drive sheet pile, H-pile, pipe, and concrete piles for heavy civil and deep foundation projects. Position Summary :

Key Responsibilities

• Safe operation of lattice boom, friction, and/or hydraulic crawler cranes equipped for pile driving operations.
• Rig, hoist, position, and drive various pile types (sheet, pipe, H-pile, timber, and pre-cast concrete) in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards.
• Perform pre-operational crane inspections, routine maintenance, and daily equipment checks to ensure maximum safety and compliance.
• Work closely with ground crews, spotters, pile bucks, and project supervisors using hand signals and radio communications.
• Maintain strict awareness of load limits, ground stability, dynamic loads during pile driving, and proximity to overhead utilities or nearby structures.
• Assist in assembling, rigging, and disassembling crane leads, hammers, power units, and boom sections as needed during mobilization and demobilization.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience operating cranes specifically in pile driving or deep foundation applications required.
• Safety: Valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs as required on-site.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
