Page Mechanical Group, Inc. in Thibodaux, LA is seeking an experienced Pile-Driver/Operator for pilings driving on foundations, walls, and piers. You will operate skid-mounted, barge, and crawler cranes to drive pilings to specified depths and maintain safety on site.

Responsibilities include pre-operational checks, equipment maintenance, and clear communication with ground operators. A valid license, physical, DISA drug screen, and background check are required, along with PPE and reliable

Qualifications

• Must have valid license.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Must pass physical, DISA drug screen, and background check.
• Must provide own PPE (hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves).
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Drive pilings for foundations, walls, bulwarks, and structures using cranes/pile drivers.
• Operate crane controls from cab to position leads and hammer over pilings.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and report hazards to management.
• Comply with safety policies and production standards; meet quality requirements.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Job Scope:
  • Operate cranesmounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or locomotive cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures, such as buildings, bridges, and piers.

• Position Requirements:
  • MUST HAVE VALID LICENSE
  • High school diploma or GED equivalentis required.
  • MUSTbe able to pass physical
  • MUSTbe able to pass DISA drug screen

  • MUST be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, & gloves)
  • MUST have reliable transportation
• Required Skills:
  • Ability to efficientlymove hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, focus and dedication to following safety protocols
    • Must be able to judge spaces correctly & handle many controls at the same time
  • Proficient in oral and written communication skills.

• Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to drive the setting for a building foundation, bridge, or pier into the ground
  • Controls the machine from the cab by using pedals & levers
  • Move levers and turn valves to activate power hammers, or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive piles to required depths.
  • Drive pilings to provide support for buildings or other structures, using heavy equipment with a pile driver head.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain visual and radio contact with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
  • Inspect machines and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance procedures and minor repairs as required and initiate additional repair requests from mechanics when necessary
    • Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.
    • Performing routine crane maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating
  • Mange house keeping activities when requested.
    • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
    • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
    • Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
  • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
    • Practicesafety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
    • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
    • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
    • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
  • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basisAbility to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
  • Excellent physical strength & stamina
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks
  • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
    • Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
    • The employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise,fumes, and/or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
