Salary Range: $55.96-$55.96/hr. Prevailing Wage for Crane Operators

Location: Southern Tier, NY

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of various construction tasks. The Crane Operator will collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals while maintaining a high standard of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cranes of various types and sizes, including but not limited to tower cranes, crawler cranes, and mobile cranes.
  • Inspect cranes before and after use to ensure they are in good working condition and perform routine maintenance as required.
  • Coordinate with construction managers and ground personnel to determine load specifications and lifting plans.
  • Safely lift, move, and position construction materials and equipment according to project requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient crane operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of crane usage, maintenance, and any incidents or issues encountered during operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or malfunctions with the crane.

Qualifications:

  • Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO, OSHA) and relevant licenses; able to operate lattice boom crane, hydraulic crane, crawler crane
  • Proven experience as a Crane Operator with a strong track record of safe and efficient crane operation.
  • In-depth knowledge of crane operations, load charts, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and load specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating cranes in a construction setting.
  • Additional training or certification in crane operation is a plus.
