Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking an experienced crane operator for our Shreveport, LA site. You will operate various crane types, perform safety checks, read lift plans, and coordinate with ground crew to move materials efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of verifiable crane experience, NCCCO certification, and a strong understanding of OSHA regulations. Valid license and ability to work outdoors are required.

Qualifications

• NCCCO certification for relevant crane types (Lattice Boom, Telescopic Boom).
• 3–5 years of verifiable crane operating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and load charts.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA crane operation regulations and best practices.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes (hydraulic, lattice boom, telescopic) safely per procedures.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane gear.
• Read load charts and lift plans to move materials efficiently.

Operate various types of cranes to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on heavy civil construction sites in Shreveport, Louisiana, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other types of cranes, adhering to all safety regulations and operational procedures.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane equipment, including inspecting cables, hooks, and slings.
• Interpret and understand load charts and lift plans to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
• Communicate effectively with ground crew, signal persons, and supervisors using hand signals, radios, and other communication methods.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of operations, maintenance, and safety inspections.
• Ensure the proper rigging and securing of loads before lifting and moving.
• Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
• Assist with other construction site duties as needed, including general labor tasks.

Job Qualifications
