Olympic Steel in Gary, Indiana is seeking a Crane Operator to ensure safe, efficient transfer of materials within the warehouse. You will operate cranes and lifting devices, inspect work areas daily for safe conditions, and perform banding, packaging, and tow-motor duties.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the related field.
• Previous forklift experience is required.
• Qualified candidates must be mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Use of Micrometer, Calipers, and Measuring tape strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Crane Operator is responsible for safe efficient transfer of materials in the warehouse.
• Inspect the work area and machines daily for safe working conditions.
• Other duties: operating banding equipment, packaging material and tow-motor operation.
