Purpose/Scope:

To provide general construction labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a crew to erect precast concrete panels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safe operation of the crane.
• Coordinate the mobilization of the crane.
• Ensure the efficient and safe transportation of the crane.
• Work with the foreperson to efficiently erect precast concrete products.
• Safely assemble and disassemble the crane for daily use.
• Handle precast concrete products safely.
• Maintain safety and maintenance logs for the crane as required.
• Conduct daily inspections and document the crane's condition.
• Ensure the crane is kept in good operating condition.
• Provide work direction to the oiler.

Basic Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with heavy equipment endorsement.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a crane operator.
• Certified Crane Operator.

Other Required Qualifications:

• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.
• Ability to work from heights, including ladders and aerial work platforms.
• Ability to obtain membership to a local union.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel extensively (50% or more, including overnights) and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to operate the specific crane assigned.
• Ability to interpret crane load charts safely.
• Understanding of stability requirements and weight limitations of the crane.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations relevant to crane operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating a crane for setting precast concrete products.

Physical Requirements:

• Traverse uneven ground, lift a minimum of 50 lbs., spatial awareness, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer.

Work Environment:

• All weather conditions, dirt/dust, noise from machinery/vehicles.
