Job summary

Team Elmer's in Traverse City, MI is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to operate stationary or traveling cranes, lifting and positioning loads at construction sites. You will be responsible for safety checks, load attachment, and routine paperworks such as job tickets and summaries, while adhering to all NCCCO/DOT/OSHA/MiOSHA regulations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years crane experience, valid CDL A with airbrake, NCCCO certifications, and the ability to work 5–6 days a week in varied

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A with airbrake endorsement and clean driving record.
• NCCCO Crane Certification and NCCCO Certified Crane Operator.
• NCCCO Rigger/Signalperson Certification preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years crane and rigging experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Ability to work long hours and 5–6 days a week in all environmental conditions.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment, machines and tools.
• Ability to follow all safety rules (NCCCO/DOT/OSHA/MiOSHA).

Responsibilities

• Operate a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads.
• Press buttons and lift levers; ensure load is attached before operating.
• Inspect crane for safety issues daily.
• Drive trucks to worksites and unload loads.
• Set blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
• Move levers/pedals to rotate crane and raise/lower loads.
• Complete job tickets and paperwork.
• Follow signals from helpers and supervisors.
