BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for handling materials and products to ensure smooth flow through production areas, including receiving, issuing, and physically moving materials accurately and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide accurate and timely documentation of material and product movement to maintain inventory accuracy in both the computer system and physical locations.
  2. Plan material allocation to production areas.
  3. Interpret production plans and shipping orders to meet material handling and shipping requirements.
  4. Conduct inventory cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  5. Work efficiently within set time limits, maintaining performance and quality standards.
  6. Maintain and responsibly use tools and equipment provided, including routine maintenance.
  • Participate actively in department safety initiatives, demonstrating excellent safety practices in accordance with Valmont policies.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Efficient and accurate in delivering results without errors.
  • After 90 days, must maintain acceptable levels of production, quality, and attendance as determined by management.
