Job summary

Messer Construction Co. is seeking seasoned Operators to advance their construction careers in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling, plus a solid understanding of safety, quality control, and cost measures on commercial projects.

You will operate cranes and other heavy equipment, perform pre-use inspections, and coordinate with crews. This role requires NCCCO certification, a high school diploma, 5+ years of experience,

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in all phases of commercial construction.
• NCCCO certification with LAT, TLL, and TWR specialties.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation.
• Be willing to travel to other Messer Regions.
• Be willing to work within a 50 mile radius.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic, lattice boom or tower cranes.
• Operate other types of equipment (backhoes, excavators, skid steers, RTFs, etc.).
• Manual moving of formwork, lumber, resteel and material / accessories.
• Placing concrete from a truck, pump, bucket, buggy, conveyor, etc.
• Use of demolition tools: jack hammer, air tools, sledgehammer, etc.
• Know how to inspect the crane for unsafe conditions, complete required records, and communicate the unsafe conditions to the proper authority.
• Ability to adapt to Laborer or Carpenter activities when necessary.
• Other tasks as directed by supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures and safety requirements associated with commercial building.
