Job summary

Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor delivering leadership for complex commercial building projects in Columbus and beyond.

We are seeking seasoned Operators to advance their construction career and apply expertise in crane operation, equipment handling, and safety protocols. The role requires NCCCO certification with LAT/TLL/TWR specialties, at least five years in commercial construction, and willingness to travel within Messer Regions.

Qualifications

• NCCCO or similar certification with LAT/TLL/TWR specialties.
• Minimum 5 years experience in all phases of commercial construction.
• Transportation required.
• Good communication skills.
• Willing to work within a 50 mile radius and travel to Messer Regions.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic, lattice boom or tower cranes
• Operate other types of equipment (backhoes, excavators, skid steers, RTFs, etc.)
• Manual moving of formwork, lumber, resteel and material / accessories
• Placing concrete from a truck, pump, bucket, buggy, conveyor, etc.
• Use of demolition tools: jack hammer, air tools, sledgehammer, etc.
• Inspect the crane for unsafe conditions, complete required records, and communicate unsafe conditions to the proper authority
• Adapt to Laborer or Carpenter activities when necessary
• Other tasks as directed by supervisor

What You Will Do:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five years’ experience in all phases of commercial construction
• Candidates must have transportation
• Good communication skills
• Be willing to work within a 50 mile radius
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions
• Willing to travel to other Messer Regions
