Job description

Summary:

The Crane Operator is responsible for operating a crane to distribute materials throughout the plant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Sets up metal fabricating equipment as needed.
  • Performs metal fabricating duties using tools (scales, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, etc.) to include:
  • ensuring traceable material is being used
  • selecting appropriate cutting equipment
  • hand working honeycomb materials
  • assembling sheet metal materials
  • Operates metal fabricating equipment each day according to engineering/customer specifications and requirements.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Monitors equipment and performs routine maintenance as needed.
  • Applies knowledge of assembly to perform sheet metal fabrication.
  • Applies knowledge of proper chemical usage and disposes of all chemicals in a safe and proper manner in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintains a clean work area on a daily basis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Records orders accordingly on software.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to speak read and write Basic English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Must be a self-motivated, dependable, team-oriented person with a positive Can-Do attitude who can be effective under pressure.
  • Ability to work as a team with other personnel assigned to the job
  • 6 months consecutive experience in production is ideal, but not required
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Participate in ensuring a safe work environment through promoting all company safety policies.
  • Ability to be patient, calm and helpful with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a constructive manner.
  • 6 months Forklift Driver experience preferred, but not required
  • High School Diploma/GED is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to comprehend and implement oral instructions quickly.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and to comprehend measurements
  • Good eyesight or wear corrective lenses as seeing is essential to the job. Applicant must be able to have clear vision at 20 feet or more and have good depth perception to judge distance and space relationships.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of compass directions.
