Job summary

FXI is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to support crane operations across our construction and industrial projects in the Santa Teresa, NM area. You will lift and position heavy materials, calculate loads, and follow strict safety and reporting protocols to ensure smooth job-site workflow.

Ideal candidates have formal crane operation certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proven experience in crane operations.

Qualifications

  • Perform routine maintenance on the crane, including lubrication and minor repairs.
  • Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in the preparation of the work site, including the assembly and disassembly of the crane.
  • Ensure proper ground conditions for stable and safe crane operation.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of crane operation, including lift logs and maintenance records.
  • Submit required reports to supervisors as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations or potential hazards, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in emergency drills and training exercises.
  • Stay informed about and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to crane operation and lifting activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and advancements.

Responsibilities
Crane Operation
  • Operate mobile or stationary cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials or equipment according to project specifications.

Safety Compliance
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of the crane to ensure it is in safe working condition.
Load Calculation
  • Calculate crane capacities and determine load weights, ensuring adherence to load charts and weight limitations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to plan lifts and rigging procedures.
Communication
