Job summary

Manson Construction Co. is seeking an experienced crawler crane operator to support marine construction projects in Louisiana. You will operate a lattice boom crawler crane, perform inspections, and assist during pile driving operations on a rotating schedule with travel requirements.

Required are 3+ years of lattice boom crawler crane experience, NCCCO certification for LBC, TWIC, and ability to communicate clearly with deck crews. Must have photo ID and be able to work outdoors on vessels.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience with lattice boom crawler cranes.
• Certification: NCCCO Crane Operator with LBC specialization.
• TWIC card or eligibility required.
• Must read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions; able to respond to hand/radio signals.

Summary

The crane operator is responsible for operating a crawler crane in support of Marine construction projects. The employee must be able to work 8-to-12-hour shifts and must work a rotating schedule and provide transportation to and from the jobsite(s). Extensive travel is required for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates a crawler crane in support of construction activities moving forms rebar and so on.
• Operates the crane during pile driving operations. Impact or vibratory
• Assist in other essential faucets of the project if crane operations are unneeded.
• Performs daily crane, rigging, barge and associated equipment inspections, completion of inspection logs and basic maintenance on crane: changing oil and filters, fueling, lubricating gears and bearings, etc.
• Maintains inventory of rigging supplies and repairs and splices cables and towing ropes
• Secures mooring lines to barges or tugs if needed.
• Participates in writing JSAs prior to performing work activity and executes work accordingly.
• Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
• Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
• Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities desired in candidates.

• Minimum 3 years' experience lattice boom crawler cranes.
• Valid Crane Operator certification (such as NCCCO) with specialization required in Lattice Boom cranes (LBC) required.
• Valid picture identification required.
• Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility is required for this position.
• Sheet Concrete and cylinder pile driving experience is a plus.
• Experience operating a totally friction Derrick a plus.
• Must have ability to give and receive, understand, respond and follow verbal and written communications and instructions, including the ability to read/write machinery requirements, document compliance records and receive and respond to hand/radio signals from deck crew.
• Must be able to communicate, take direction well, and work cooperatively with other colleagues.
