Job summary

TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking experienced full-time Crane Operators to join their growing team in Austin, Texas. Successful candidates will ensure safety first and maintain high operational standards while lifting loads. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, completing necessary documentation, and assisting in training.

The ideal applicant should possess a valid CDL, crane operating licenses, and have at least three years of crane operating experience.

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of operating hydraulic cranes required.
  • Ability to operate a crane by viewing hand signals.

Responsibilities

  • Review job assignments and prepare equipment before end of shift.
  • Complete a Field Ticket and submit to local branch office.
  • Maintain inspection, cleaning, and perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist in the training of safe operation of a crane.

Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Education

Current state-issued Commercial Driver License (CDL)

Job description

Company: TNT Crane & Rigging Inc.

Position: Crane Operator

Location: Austin, Texas

Reports to: Operations Manager

TNT is looking to add experienced full‑time crane operators to our growing branch. You must meet all of the requirements below to be considered for this position.

Summary: Ensures safety first, along with safe lifting of the load, proper set‑up of crane, while maintaining customer focus. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles and follows all safety and environmental policies while performing the job task.

Responsibilities
  • At the end of the shift, review what the next day(s) job assignments are and have all necessary rigging and equipment ready before ending the shift.
  • Complete a Field Ticket and turn it in to the local branch office. If other chargeable equipment was utilized on the job, write it down on the Field Ticket.
  • Complete the payroll book daily with the hours worked; hours must be reported to the local branch office no later than 10:00 a.m. every Monday.
  • If not on a job assignment, inform the supervisor and remain productive by inspecting, cleaning, and performing maintenance on the equipment.
  • Carry and answer phone/pagers in a prompt manner.
  • Assist in the training of safe operation of a crane.
  • Periodically review assigned crane and other model crane service and operation manuals.
  • Clean, inspect, and reorganize equipment in shop and yard. Clean shop, wash rack, and break room.
  • Read, interpret, and calculate the load percentage using the load charts of the crane owner and operation manual.
  • Program the crane's computer in proper set‑up mode and set‑up the crane on location in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ensure that the signal person understands and performs proper hand signals before lifting the load.
  • Perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
  • Inspect the crane, truck, and/or trailer and fill out a vehicle inspection report before operating the vehicle. Turn in the inspection report to the local branch office.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have a current state‑issued Commercial Driver License (CDL).
  • Must have a current crane operating license (NCCCO or NCCER).
