Job summary

TNT Crane & Rigging Inc. is seeking an All Terrain Crane Operator for our Norco, LA or St. James, LA location.

The role requires operating hydraulic cranes, following safety rules, and maintaining customer focus. Reports to the Branch Manager and works full-time with potential overtime. Responsibilities include crane operation, rigging, field tickets, payroll entries, and mentoring others on safe procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current state CDL for operating commercial vehicles.
  • Must hold a current crane operating license (NCCCO or NCCER).
  • Must currently possess a TWIC or be able to obtain one.
  • Three or more years of operating hydraulic cranes required.
  • Ability to interpret hand signals for crane operations.
  • Good verbal and written communication to understand instructions and maintain records.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems on equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hydraulic All Terrain and Truck Cranes safely and efficiently.
  • Drive All Terrain, Truck Cranes, and Boom Trucks over the road as needed.
  • Be proficient with Liebherr, Tadano, Grove cranes and crane computer systems.
  • End of shift: review next job and prepare rigging and equipment.
  • Complete Field Ticket and submit to the local branch office; document any chargeable gear.
  • Enter payroll hours and report them to the local branch by the next day.
  • When not on a job, inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Carry and answer phone calls promptly.
  • Assist in training safe crane operation for team members.
  • Review crane manuals and service/operation information periodically.
  • Read and interpret load charts; program crane computer for setup.
  • Ensure signal person understands hand signals before lifting.
  • Perform proper rigging for safe lifting of loads.
  • Inspect crane, truck, or trailer and submit vehicle inspection reports.

All Terrain Crane Operator

Location: Norco, LA or St. James, LA

Reports to: Branch Manager

TNT is looking to add an experienced full-time all terrain crane operator with a Class A CDL to our growing branch. The following are a list of requirements; You must meet all of the requirements below to be considered for this position.

Summary: Ensures safety first, along with safe lifting of the load, proper set-up of crane, while maintaining customer focus. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing the job task.

Responsibilities:
  • Must have experience operating hydraulic All Terrain and Truck Cranes.
  • Must have experience driving All Terrain, Truck Cranes, and/or Boom Trucks over the road.
  • Must have experience with Liebherr, Tadano, and/or Grove hydraulic cranes and be proficient in the various computer systems in these cranes.
  • At the end of the shift reviews what the next day(s) job assignment are and have all necessary rigging and equipment ready before ending the shift.
  • Completes Field Ticket and turns in to local branch office. If other chargeable equipment was utilized on the job, makes sure to document on the Field Ticket.
  • Completes payroll entry with the hours worked. Hours must be reported to the local branch office no later than the next day.
  • If not on a job assignment, informs the supervisor and is productive by inspecting, cleaning, and performing maintenance on the equipment.
  • Carries and answers phone in a prompt manner.
  • Assists in the training of safe operation of the crane.
  • Periodically reviews assigned crane and other model cranes service and operation manuals.
  • Be able to read, interpret, and calculate the load percentage by utilizing the load charts of the cranes owner and operation manual.
  • Be able to program the crane's computer in proper set-up mode, set-up crane on location in a safe and professional manner.
  • Must determine that the signal person understands and performs proper hand signals before lifting the load.
  • Understands and can perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
  • Inspects crane, truck, and/or trailer and fills out vehicle inspection report before operating the vehicle. Turns in inspection report to the local branch office.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
