Job summary

A. M. Castle & Co. seeks a Warehouse Operator to perform a variety of material handling tasks, order pulling, and equipment operation in a fast-paced distribution setting. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to customer requirements.

Expect to operate cranes and powered equipment, move materials, and stage shipments while contributing to a clean, efficient warehouse environment. This position starts at $21/hr with a raise after a 90-day probation to $25.88/hr.

Qualifications

• Basic measurement and math competency in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of common warehouse concepts and procedures.
• Strong work ethic and reliable performance.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes to load and unload trucks efficiently.
• Move and stage materials for order filling, receiving and loading.
• Safely use power equipment to move material per order requirements (forklift, crane, etc.).
• Follow customer requirements to select, fill and package orders.
• Attach bundle tags and stage for shipment.
• Report equipment defects and wear; assist with basic maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
