Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking a Shop Apprentice in Winter Garden, FL to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot lifting and material-handling equipment. You’ll diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, perform shop repairs, and complete service documentation in a safety-focused environment.

Based in Winter Garden, FL, you will handle preventive maintenance and warranty service while communicating needed repairs to the shop manager and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 1–3 years of mechanical experience or training in articulating cranes and forklifts.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting and welding capabilities.
• Basic computer skills with Windows applications and ability to work independently.
• Lift 75+ lbs and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions; own hand tools required (PALFINGER tools provided).

Responsibilities

• Perform shop repairs and troubleshooting on cranes, forklifts, bucket trucks, platforms, conveyors, trucks and trailers.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and warranty service per schedules; handle unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Communicate issues and required repairs to the shop manager clearly.
• Complete service documentation including estimates, work orders, parts, labor and inventory.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas in compliance with safety rules.
