Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking a Crane Mechanical Technician for a heavy industrial manufacturing operation near Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance of cranes, mobile equipment, and material-handling systems in a demanding production environment.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment, gearboxes, and mechanical components, with welding on structural repairs often required.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with rotating equipment, gearboxes or related equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Welding experience, structural welding preferred.
• Crane or mobile equipment maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on cranes and mobile equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving rotating equipment, gearboxes, mechanical components, and related industrial equipment.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on crane systems and material-handling equipment.
• Perform structural repairs and welding as needed.
• Perform general millwright maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Support equipment reliability and help maximize equipment uptime.
• Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance.
• Work closely with other maintenance and operations professionals to resolve equipment issues.
• Follow established safety procedures in a heavy industrial environment.
