Qualdoc is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Assembler to build and install components for overhead cranes and hoists in Ashland, VA. The role involves mechanical assembly, equipment operation, and working at elevated heights in a heavy industrial environment.

Applicants must be comfortable climbing cranes and working ~15 feet high on OSHA-compliant equipment with safety features. First shift, 1st shift, 10-hour days, with potential contract-to-hire after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on assembly experience.
• Read and understand shop drawings.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Willingness and comfort with climbing cranes and working at heights using approved safety equipment.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Dependable, punctual, and safety‑conscious.

Responsabilités

• Assemble mechanical components for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Install bearings, couplings, and other components onto shafts.
• Use basic hand tools to fabricate, assemble, and install parts.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and assembly instructions.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
• Apply basic mechanical knowledge to assembly tasks.
• Work at elevated heights while following applicable OSHA safety requirements.
• Handle and lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and reliable attendance.
