Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks a crane operator to lift and move materials on construction sites. You will operate hydraulic, friction, and other cranes, follow safety procedures, verify load weights, and communicate clearly with supervisors and crew.

Candidates must complete a crane course and hold NCCCO or NCCER certification, pass a certification, and meet DOT physical requirements. OSHA 10 training is expected; weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

  • Crane operation knowledge and safety practices.
  • Ability to read load charts and perform basic math for weights/balance.
  • Certification requirements: crane course, NCCCO/NCCER, pass certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment that lifts, hoists or moves materials for construction purposes.
  • Move levers and controls to drive cranes and attachments.
  • Inspect equipment daily for safe operation.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and project safety rules.
  • Assess weather conditions before lifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
