Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking a hands-on mechanic to service cranes and heavy equipment across local and field environments. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain complex systems, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

This role offers a mix of shop and on-site work, weekly pay, and opportunities to expand skills in advanced diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems while supporting various crane projects in the Illinois region.

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years of experience with cranes, diesel, or heavy equipment.
• Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Experience reading schematics and working with electronics.
• Mechanically minded with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cranes and heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including advanced electronics.
• Work on engines, booms, brakes, tires, and hydraulic components.
• Handle equipment breakdowns and repairs across the branch fleet.
• Use tools like IFS systems, tablets, and crane-specific software to track work.
• Support both shop and field work, including job sites as needed.
