Step into the shop: a day in the lifeYou start with a walk-around of our heavy lift fleet—towering cranes, boom trucks, trailers, pickups, and semis—scanning for signs of wear before any lift gets planned. You’ll roll a crane into a bay, operate a hoist or forklift to safely stage components, and then dive into diagnostics: diesel engines, booms, electrical and hydraulic circuits, and brake systems. With micrometers and gauges in hand, you confirm tolerances, fabricate or modify a part as needed, reassemble, and test against OEM specifications. When that crane leaves your bay, you know it’s ready for the next critical pick. What you’ll handleFull-scope inspections and diagnosis of cranes and other heavy equipment to pinpoint defects, faults, and malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.Preventative and corrective maintenance across diesel engines, boom assemblies, electrical and hydraulic systems, brakes, and other core components.Operation of hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to move, dismantle, and reassemble heavy components safely.Post-repair/assembly testing of mechanical systems to validate performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer and OEM standards.Routine service including cleaning and lubrication for equipment and fleet vehicles.Fabrication, modification, and installation of specialized equipment or replacement parts using appropriate specialty tools.Precision inspection of parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.Troubleshooting, rewiring, and repair of vehicle and equipment electrical systems.Repair and replacement of worn or damaged components on vehicles and equipment.Perform other duties as assigned or required. The fleet you’ll supportCranes and crane equipment, boom trucks, trailers, pickup trucks, and semis. Why MaximOur work impacts local communities—reshaping where people live, work, and play.
