Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience operating Krones and Switchback or similar packaging machinery.
• Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: configure can size, filling volume, product, and packaging; ensure sanitation prior to production.
• Machine Operation: monitor depalletizer, filler, Switchback, traypack, and palletizer.
• Quality Control: perform visual checks, verify fill levels, and sealing quality.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose malfunctions and perform minor repairs or call maintenance.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: clean and sanitize machines and perform preventive tasks.
• Record-Keeping: document production data, settings, QC checks, and maintenance activities.

SUMMARY

Responsible for operating and troubleshooting Craftmate machines to ensure the efficient and accurate filling and packaging of cans. You will work in our beverage manufacturing plant, contributing to the production of high-quality canned beverages.

Rotating schedule: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, 4 days on / 4 days off.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Machine Setup: Set up the Krones and Switchback machines for production runs, including configuring settings such as can size, filling volume, product type, and packaging type. Ensure the machines are clean and sanitized, as needed, before initiating production.
• Machine Operation: Monitor the depalletizer, filler, Switchback, traypack, and palletizer machines, as assigned for that shift, during production runs. Progress towards full competency in operating and troubleshooting each station of the Craftmate line.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure filled cans meet required standards. Perform visual inspections, measure fill levels, and check for proper sealing to ensure quality and prevent defects.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or issues. Make minor adjustments, perform basic maintenance tasks, or contact maintenance personnel for more complex repairs to minimize downtime.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the can filling machine. Ensure proper sanitation for hygiene standards and conduct preventative maintenance tasks to keep the machine in optimal working condition.
• Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate production and maintenance records. Document production quantities, machine settings, quality control checks, and maintenance activities to track efficiency, troubleshoot issues, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Food Safety

Education

Skills/Knowledge

Has learned the basic skills and routine tasks necessary. Beginning to learn advanced skills, and becoming proficient on all machines comprising the Craftmate line. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards. Previous experience operating Krones and Switchback machines or similar packaging machinery.

Computer Skills

Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
