Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Six months experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Knowledgeable in cooking large quantities of food with little to no direction on how to cook the recipes.
• Knowledgeable of culinary practices, procedures, and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals that follow the menus and recipes with proper portions.
• Inspect diet trays and serve meals according to portion controls and planned diets.
• Prepare cold items, bakery and salad items.
• Cook hot foods as directed by supervisor and ensure safety standards.
• Adhere to food service timelines and quality standards.
• Serve meals to residents and guests; assist with events and special meals.
• Maintain sanitary work areas and assist with inventory and supplies.
