Hilltop Tavern in Woodway, TX seeks an experienced Bartender to provide timely, accurate, and friendly beverage service. You will handle orders, manage draft systems, maintain bar cleanliness, and ensure a high standard of hospitality for guests and regulars alike.

Responsibilities include keg changes, inventory monitoring, and assisting with stock; you will also process payments, upsell menu items, and uphold safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or older and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests and servers.
• Working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common recipes.
• Basic math to handle money and operate a POS system.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• TABC certification and Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain.

Summary of Position:

Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Take beverage orders from guests and servers
• Responsible for monitoring keg levels and maintaining proper inventory of draft beers.
• Efficiently change out kegs to ensure a continuous supply of beverages, minimizing downtime.
• Inspect and clean keg couplers and lines before and after keg changes to ensure cleanliness and proper functions
• Perform routine maintenance on draft systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Report any issues with equipment or keg handling to management promptly.
• Adhere to safety protocols while handling heavy kegs, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
• Ensure that all keg storage areas are organized and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including keg storage, tools, and equipment used for changing kegs.
• Dispose of old kegs properly and assist in stock organization
• Prepare juices, and syrups for the week.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
• Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
• Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks.
• Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
• Clear and reset bar top.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
• Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Be 21 years of age.
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a POS system.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• TABC certified
• Food Handler Certified or willing to acquire certification
