Job summary

Acuren seeks an experienced CR/DR Technician to operate computed and digital radiography systems for industrial inspection in North Salt Lake, UT. You will inspect welds, pipelines, and components, aligning exposure settings and interpreting results per ASME/API/ASTM standards.

The role requires travel readiness, strong problem-solving, and commitment to radiation safety in demanding sites across manufacturing, aerospace, or energy sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience with automated CR/DR systems or advanced NDT techniques.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation software.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment setup and minor repairs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
• Proficiency in operating CR/DR systems, including imaging software and analysis tools.
• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and industrial NDT codes (ASME, API, ASTM).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate CR and DR imaging equipment to perform non-destructive testing on welds, pipelines, castings, or other industrial components.
• Set up and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate detection of defects.
• Interpret and analyze radiographic images to identify flaws per industry standards.
• Prepare and position components for inspection with proper alignment and exposure settings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CR/DR systems and report malfunctions.
• Adhere to radiation safety regulations and PPE protocols.
• Document inspection results and generate reports for QA and compliance.
• Collaborate with NDT supervisors, engineers, and QC teams to meet project specs.
• Follow safety and environmental guidelines, including hazardous materials handling.
• Stay updated on CR/DR tech through training and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned.
