Qualifications:

General Maintenance Technician

As the General Maintenance Technician, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring uninterrupted service delivery for our clients. Based in East Liberty, OH, you'll perform required preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs on facility equipment. You will have the ability to prioritize repairs based on the production’s best interest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on facilities following written instructions. PM activities include measuring wear, replacing expendables (belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.), and inspecting/evaluating operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration.
  • Complete repairs including rebuilding pumps, valves, electrical and pneumatic solenoid devices, and air handling equipment.
  • Perform general building repairs, including walls, doors, floors, etc.
  • Repair plumbing systems, fixing leaks and stoppages, and replacing sinks, piping, valves, drains, and toilets.
  • Maintain lighting systems throughout the plant and penthouses, replacing components, ceiling tiles, and grids.
  • Complete PM and work order activities in CMMS following guidance from MAP CMMS and Honda Leadership.
  • Keep work areas neat and assist in maintaining facility cleanliness following 5S & COP standards.

Heres What you'll Need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facility/plant engineering or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • HS diploma or GED; Vocational Tech, Trades School, or Military Occupational Specialty preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, procedures, and regulations. Capable of writing reports and manuals.
  • Experience with HVAC, air compressors, pump and plumbing maintenance, basic electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle practical situations with limited standardization.
  • Understanding of business implications, respectful treatment of others, adherence to policies, and support of organizational values.
  • Experience with OSHA guidelines, including Lock-out/Tag-out and HAZCOM, and ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and performance data to understand system configurations.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance, agility, stooping, kneeling, squatting, grasping, reaching, and repetitive hand movements. The environment may involve indoor and outdoor settings with loud noises, active machinery, high-pressure systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights, fumes, airborne particles, gases, and chemicals. Appropriate safety equipment is mandatory to prevent hazards.
