The Oregon Department of Human Services is hiring a Child Protective Services Worker (Social Service Specialist 1) in Milton Freewater. This permanent, full-time role involves protecting children, assessing family needs, and coordinating services.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related fields, with relevant experience or certified coursework. Travel and court appearances are expected.

Formación

• Degree must be completed, not in progress.
• One year of Human Services related experience or equivalent coursework for non-Human Services degrees.
• Knowledge of Oregon Caseworker Competency or related training.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to referrals and determine child abuse or neglect.
• Gather information via interviews with parents and children.
• Assess home safety and environments.
• Collect collateral information from schools, doctors, and law enforcement.
• Complete documentation and data entry.
• Arrange medical evaluations and substitute care for children.
• Present and testify in court.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field

Bachelor’s degree in a non-Human Services field plus related experience/certification

Associate degree with Human Services experience or related training
