Job summary

The Orange County Department of Social Services seeks a CPS Social Worker in the CPS Assessments area. This role provides professional social work services for children and families affected by abuse or neglect, including assessments, investigations, in-home services, or foster care planning.

Candidates should have child welfare experience and strong communication, critical thinking and time management skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work.
• AND one (1) year of social work experience
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in social work
• AND two (2) years of social work experience
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in any field
• AND four (4) years of direct social work experience

Responsibilities

• Provide professional social work services for children and families where abuse, neglect or dependency has occurred (assessments/investigations).
• Deliver in-home services, or foster care/permanency planning as needed.
• Work under supervision with some independence within applicable rules and procedures.
