Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in Texas seeks a CPS Family Based Safety Services Worker to help families protect children. This role involves in-home services, crisis response, and collaboration with community resources to reduce risk and promote safety.

Essential duties include rapid crisis response, safety assessments, treatment planning, and extensive family engagement; this position requires willingness to travel and flexible hours, with on-call duties and valid Texas

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field; or an accredited Associate's degree plus two years' experience.
• Eligible for required licensure and able to drive; reliable vehicle and Texas driver's license.
• Experience in child welfare or protective services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations and provides in-home services.
• Assesses child safety and acts to protect the child as needed.
• Develops treatment plans and coordinates resources for families.
• Maintains contact with families to achieve treatment goals.
• Works flexible hours and travels to family visits as required.
