Job summary

AMA Support Services in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Community Participation Specialist (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will work one-on-one in community or home settings, helping individuals live their best life and stay safe.

Requirements: 18+ years old, high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check. Prior caregiving with IDD or autism is preferred.

What you will be doing:

• Helping an individual with intellectual disabilities live their best life (which may include helping with personal hygiene, cleaning, cooking, taking them out into the community, and keeping them safe)
• Complete daily progress notes so that everyone knows what is going on with that individual. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our CPS program, you will be making a direct impact on the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while working with an individual in the community.
• You are being a responsible friend, mentor, helper, and supporter!
• Monitor, document, and report any changes in individuals, emotional, physical, and mental health promptly.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and clean environment for the individual and yourself.

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

The base schedule for this position is determined by the individuals being supported but is primarily a Monday-Friday position.
