Job summary

Southeast Health is seeking a Patient Sitter to work under the guidance of the nursing staff and directly observe a patient at risk for safety or injury, maintaining a safe environment and reporting any changes to the care team. Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Compassion and genuine desire to help others.
• CPR certification.
• CPI training with certification.
• Successful completion of Patient Sitter Training.
• Annual competency requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to communicate with varied age groups and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Direct observation of a patient who is at risk for safety or injury.
• Observe the patient at all times and maintain a safe environment.
• Report changes in the patient’s condition or concerns to staff.
