Job summary

Katy ISD is seeking a dedicated Pool Technician to clean and maintain district aquatic facilities and chemical rooms. The role supports maintenance staff, performs routine pool maintenance, and assists with major repairs as needed.

The position requires CPO certification, TX driver’s license, and 3+ years in related work. Candidates should be able to lift 75 pounds, follow written and oral instructions, and work a 261-day schedule with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent certification.
• Texas Driver’s License.
• Three years related job experience.
• Knowledge and ability to perform pool cleaning and maintenance.
• Good communication skills (written and oral).
• Good computer skills.
• Physically able to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to follow instructions (written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain district aquatic facilities and pool mechanical rooms.
• Assist supervisor with pool maintenance projects and repairs.
• Clean water line tiles, deck tiles, coping, and hardware.
• Check and adjust water chemistry.
• Inspect pool safety equipment.
• Report pool-related issues.
• Repair pool cleaning equipment and chemical feed systems.
• Diagnose and repair pumps and motors.
• Adhere to safety around hazardous chemicals.
