CPD&D Senior Laboratory Technician

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Laboratory Technician for an opportunity in Indianapolis, IN 46077

Job Details:

Job title: Senior Laboratory Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46077

Duration: 11+ months Contract with possible extension or conversion

Shift Times: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr on W2

Required Skills/Experience: Biochemistry experience - BS (with 5 years' experience) or MS (with 3 years' experience); 3-5+ years of prior relevant laboratory experience.

Exposure to Common Allergens: Insects, plants, chemicals

Job Description

Educational Requirements

  • BS in Science (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology) or related field.

Core Responsibilities
  • Laboratory Work: This position is 100% site-based and involves conducting experiments, handling laboratory equipment, and working in a laboratory setting.
  • Identifies and suggests improvements in methods, plans projects of limited duration and scope, and troubleshoots unexpected or erroneous results. Responsible for producing research experimental results or information/data management results.
  • Expected to work independently and to coach/support less experienced laboratory technicians and assistants.

Technical Skills and Previous Experience
  • Lab Equipment and Techniques: Strong familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques required. Knowledge of chemical and analytical skills and equipment setup is also essential.
  • Prior Lab Experience: 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a research or manufacturing/engineering lab environment required. Biochemistry experience preferred.

Safety and Compliance
  • Adherence to Corteva Safety Protocols: Must understand and follow EH&S standards, apply safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and comply with laboratory safety procedures.

Soft Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective documentation and communication of results.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Expected to coach and support less experienced laboratory technicians and assistants.
