Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies in Indianapolis, IN seeks a CPD&D Laboratory Technician for a 12-month term. The role involves supporting the Plant Performance team with day-to-day lab tasks, preparing experimental materials, and conducting assays in soils and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Requires a B.A./B.S./associate degree in plant biology, soil science, microbiology, biological sciences or a related field.
  • Experience conducting laboratory bioassays in an R&D setting.
  • Experience with greenhouse trials assessing plant growth and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a dynamic lab environment.
  • Experience with scientific record-keeping and common software applications.

Job description

Title: CPD&D Laboratory Technician

Duration: 12 months
Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
Shift Times: 8am-5pm, Flexible

Description

We are seeking motivated candidates with strong organizational skills to join our dynamic and multi‑disciplinary Plant Performance team at the Indianapolis Research and Development facility. The selected candidate will assist with day‑to‑day laboratory activities including preparation of experimental materials (soils, chemical solutions), conducting lab and greenhouse assays, collecting data, and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment. You will work collaboratively across research groups and communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Required Qualifications

  • Ability to occasionally lift and move heavy objects (25–50 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a lab and/or greenhouse environment.
  • Experience with agricultural biological experiments in a lab or greenhouse setting.
  • Experience using track spraying equipment for foliar treatments.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and data collection.
  • Attention to detail and a solid understanding of biological processes.
  • Entry‑level role; new graduates or candidates with up to 5 years of experience are welcome.
  • Medical surveillance testing: OSHA respiratory evaluation to wear a PAPR device required.
  • Knowledge of exposure to common allergens such as plants and chemicals.
