Job Summary & Qualifications

Responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the 4 Heart Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit. Advocates and allocates resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, quality, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. Integrates clinical, human resource, and financial data to support decision making.

Essential Accountabilities

• Demonstrate leadership through supervision, facilitation, and coordination of clinical care.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership on organizational planning, innovations, and evaluation of initiatives.
• Contribute to professional development of staff, students, and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
• Participate as a member of the team to achieve business goals.
• Demonstrate the standards of a Mission Health Professional Nurse who practices according to the Mission Health Guiding Principles.

Education

• Required: BSN or equivalent (ADN with MSN, BA with MSN).
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. An eNLC license may apply.
• National certification in area of specialty within one year of accepting the role. Certification may be in leadership or area of clinical practice.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience

• Minimum of five years of recent nursing experience; 2 years in relevant clinical hospital experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Preferred: Previous leadership experience.
