Job summary

InterChange Group, Inc. is seeking a shift lead to plan and direct operations in a distribution facility, ensuring efficient warehousing services for a diverse group of regional customers.

The role focuses on leading unloading/loading, inventory management, and daily safety practices with an emphasis on teamwork. You will oversee stock rotation, cycle counts, and coordination with supervision on shipments, schedules, and new procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of warehousing experience.
• Ability to lead Warehouse Associates in receiving, storage, shipping and distribution.
• Strong multitasking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and leads the shift operations of an assigned facility, providing distribution and warehouse services to regional customers.
• Monitors employee morale and other employment related issues, keeping supervision abreast of concerns.
• Plans and leads unloading/loading/processing operations with Warehouse Associates.
• Communicates items such as hot shipments, deliveries, or changes in schedules or policies.
• Leads rotation of stock and oversees cycle counts where applicable.
• Assists with inventories and leads cycle count activities.
• Leads and promotes safety, industrial hygiene, and fire safety initiatives.
• Identifies and mitigates workplace hazards and assists compliance with OSHA and regulations.
• Monitors warehouse equipment maintenance and reports issues to supervision.

Pay Range: $21-22

Responsibilities:

• Plans and leads the shift operations of an assigned facility, providing distribution and warehouse services to a wide variety of regional customers
• Monitor employee morale and other employment related issues, keeping supervision/management abreast of any items that may be of concern
• Plan and lead Warehouse Associates with the unloading/loading/processing operations
• Work with supervision/management to communicate items such as hot shipments or deliveries, product on hold, work schedules, new procedures, new policies, etc.
• Lead Warehouse Associates in the proper rotation of stock, where applicable
• Assist with periodic inventories, and be prepared to lead Warehouse Associates in the proper cycle count, counting and re-counting procedures
• Lead and encourage Warehouse Associates in the areas of safety, industrial hygiene, general safety, environmental health, and fire safety
• Identify and reduce risks from potential hazards in the workplace and assist with compliance to OSHA and other regulatory rules and regulations
• Monitor maintenance of the warehouse and warehouse equipment, communicating any related problems to supervision/management
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to lead Warehouse Associates in the proper warehouse methods, principles and practices
• Ability to analyze pertinent factors related to stock and inventory control
• Ability to determine material requirements for specific or specialized projects
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to lead Warehouse Associates in the performance of material receipt, storage, shipping/distribution and record keeping functions
• Ability to multitask

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of warehousing operations including receipt, storage, issuance and distribution of a wide variety of commodities
• Knowledge of inventory control and inventory practices
• Knowledge of commercial shipping methods, terminology and equipment
• Knowledge of Federal, State and Local requirements for receipt, storage, issuance and disposal of hazardous materials and similar items requiring special handling
• Ability to coordinate, schedule and lead the work activity for assigned personnel
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance

Training and Experience:

• Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of warehousing experience in a moderate size warehouse.
• Supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
