Job summary

AppleOne is seeking a skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for a direct hire role in Clearwater, FL. The candidate will manage complex tax issues, support the legal team, and mentor junior staff.

Key duties include tax preparation, tax resolution before IRS and state authorities, and client communications by phone, email, and occasional in-person meetings. This onsite full-time position offers steady hours and peak-season overtime.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license preferred (Candidates who have passed all exam parts will be considered).
• Proven experience in accounting and tax resolution (Federal, State, and Local).
• Experience with international tax forms is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Tax Preparation: Preparing complex tax returns for a variety of clients.
• Compliance & Filing: Serving as the firm’s Electronic Return Originator (ERO).
• Mentorship: Guiding staff accountants and mentoring candidates currently pursuing their C.P.A. licenses.
• Legal Support: Providing essential accounting support for our legal staff on complex cases.
• Resolution Work: Representing clients and performing resolution work before the IRS and state taxing authorities.
