Job description

Position Summary

Acuren Inspection is currently seeking Junior Cathodic Protection Technicians to join and contribute to our Cathodic Protection team. This position will be responsible for performing the duties associated with testing, evaluation, and installation of cathodic protection (CP) systems and involves specialized, high technology surveys to assess pipelines: G.P.S., depth of cover, coating condition and integrity. This position is remote and does not require relocation.

Responsibilities
  • Learn to execute various data acquisition and assessment procedures specific to pipeline integrity programs
  • Receive training to install, test, adjust and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and CP test points / stations
  • Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
  • Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements
  • Locate pipelines and document positional pipeline information utilizing electro-magnetic and GPS equipment
  • Perform over-the-line depth of cover, close interval CP and coating surveys
  • Document physical features of installation site for subsequent detailed as-built drawings
  • Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports
Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving record
  • Experience working on pipelines and in an industrial facility setting preferred
  • NACE CP training preferred
  • Technical degree or diploma preferred
  • Be available to travel for multiple days to remote locations (>70%)
