Job summary

Sentinel Health Services seeks Board-certified Family and Adult Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation and Pension Examinations for Veterans. You must have your own office at a commercial location and professional liability coverage.

This contract role offers flexibility with 1–3 exams per week and a scheduling approach that can suit an independent practice. Candidates should have 2 years of clinical experience, state-specific collaborative agreements if required, and familiarity with VA

Qualifications

• Board-certified Family and Adult Nurse Practitioners (1099).
• Two years of clinical experience (preferred).
• Own office; commercial location required.
• Malpractice insurance as the named insured.
• Commercial liability insurance for your practice location.
• Collaborative agreement as required by state law.
• Flexible schedule: 1–3 exams per week; 3–7 days a month preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation and Pension Examinations on Veterans.
• Review digital medical records for each case.
• Conduct physical assessments based on disability claims.
• Submit findings through the online VA portal for claims processing.
• Exams conducted at approved facilities with required equipment and internet access.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate exams.

• Perform Compensation and Pension Examinations on Veterans
• Complete a thorough review of digital medical records
• Conduct a physical assessment based on specific disability claims
• Submit information gathered through an online portal for the VA to review as part of a compensation/pension claim.
• All exams will take place at approved facilities with proper equipment and internet access provided.
• Must be able to perform exams a minimum of 1 to 3 days per week
• If you have your own practice, you can conduct these exams with a flexible schedule that works with your current patient scheduling.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Family and Adult Nurse Practitioners (1099)
• One year NP Experience or some prior VA work is ideal.
• Design your own schedule (7 days a week, weekends encouraged). Availability of at least 3 to 7 days a month is preferred.

Preferred experience performing Veteran exam, workman’s compensation exams or any disability exams Prior VA employee or any relationship with Veterans.
