Job summary

St. Croix County seeks a part-time on-call Juror Security Officer to provide care and security for jurors and assist the court system. The role is sworn judicial appointment and involves liaison between jurors, judges and attorneys during trials and deliberations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, be bondable and able to pass a background check. Previous courtroom or law enforcement experience is preferred, and the position offers flexible on-call hours.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out directives from judge and Clerk of Court and liaise between jurors, judges, and attorneys.
• Provide courtroom security and monitor jury room, courtroom, and common areas.
• Open/prepare jury assembly area; handle trial disposition and notes disposal.
• Maintain contact with jurors during breaks and deliberations.
• Arrange juror meals, transportation, and housing if needed.
• Provide needed jury materials and escort jurors to facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
