A High School diploma or GED, two years of law enforcement experience, TCLEOSE Peace Officer Certification, and mandatory firearms qualification are required; valid transportation for subpoenas is also expected. Strong communication and organization are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily court operations and provide security in courtrooms.
  • Handle inmates, witnesses and defendants; make arrests when necessary.
  • Maintain and secure the courtroom; support juries and court staff.
  • Transport inmates between jail and court.
  • Check and update court dockets; monitor budgets and schedules.
  • Perform administrative duties and process subpoenas; gather mail and orders.
  • Follow Code of Judicial Conduct and assist with services related to jury activities.
  • Use computer systems to order prisoners for court appearances.
